Canadian Metaresearch Data Challenge
This is the submission for the Canadian Metaresearch Data Challenge, part of the 2nd Canadian Open Science Conference (University of Ottawa, October 27–29, 2026). The call asks for a methodology to construct an open, reproducible, and inclusive dataset capturing the Canadian metaresearch landscape.
The proposal builds a directory of Canadian metaresearch initiatives, the people who drive them, and the works that result. It draws on funding records and OpenAlex, constructed in two phases: identifying and collecting information about each initiative, then analyzing the resulting materials to characterize each initiative’s methods and disciplinary orientation.
The data sources, model, and pipeline page expands on the two sources, the two-phase construction process, and the resulting data model summarized in the proposal.
